Working hard for Retford

Councillor Palmer (Retford East) and myself have called on the Government to lower VAT on fuel to help residents struggling during the current economic climate.

We wrote to the major companies that currently have fuel stations in the area just after christmas and have asked to meet with them and some local residents to discuss the matter.

This week we have also written to George Osborne calling for him to cut the VAT on fuel to make it easier for these large companies to lower prices.

Our campaign is not just about fuel for transport but fuel in heating homes. We feel that the two go hand in hand and both have dramatic effects on our pockets.
